研究團隊致力於探討認知功能與大腦結構隨年齡變化所帶來的改變。

透過大台北地區的城市與郊區中,60歲以上老年族群進行血液、認知功能評估、及腦部核磁共振MRI檢查,我們期許透過瞭解失智症的發生過程,進一步找到預防與治療的對策。

An epistatic interaction between the ɛ4 allele of apolipoprotein E (APOEɛ4) gene and the K-variant of butyrylcholinesterase (BCHE-K) genes has been previously reported to increase risk of Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, these observations were largely from case-control studies with small sample sizes.

​Thus, to examine the interaction between APOEɛ4 and BCHE-K on: 1) the risk of incident AD and 2) rates of change in brain volumes and cognitive performance during the preclinical stages of AD in a prospective cohort study.
